Memorable Experiences at the Center

One day I took some women to the Family History Center. One was not a member of the church who was visiting from Florida. I helped her sign on to FamilySearch and she added her immediate family to her tree. I showed her how to search for records and right away we found a record in the 1940 Florida census. This simple record was such a wonder to her. She became emotional looking at family members who had long passed away. This was truly the Spirit of Elijah.

Another memorable experience I had was while attending a class. It was a basic class at our Family History Center. I had debated going to the class, as Saturday mornings can be so busy. I finally told myself I may know the basics, but there is always something I can learn. When I got to the class there was just the teacher and myself. She decided that I should have a one-on-one lesson and it was the most treasured experience I’ve had, learning so much more than I had expected!  She was very knowledgeable and I was so thankful for what I had learned. I have since shared this knowledge with the youth as we teach them the basic steps in FamilySearch.
